Terry pratchett

It is with a sad heart that I mourn the loss of my favourite author today. I will not get to read the book about taxes that may have been written or anything else that he can think of to poke fun at. I have spent many hours even days reading about stamps, coins, trains even time and death itself. He had a wonderful grasp of fantasy, myth and reality. He managed to put it all together with humour and human observation. There was even a bit of religion for those that like that. The world will be a much poorer place without his wit and wisdom. I now need to finish my collection of books to properly honour his memory.

Yes, my favorite author as well. Did you see my post about his passing?

    1. I have now. It’s sad about Leonard nimoy too but he didn’t affect me as much. I felt a selfish anger about Terry and all I could think of was rage against the dying of the light and dulce et decorum es pro patria mori . (Wilfred owen)

Yeah,… Nimoy’s day had passed, but Pratchett could have given us so much more. ūüė¶

      2. Indeed. I’ve started reading dark side of the sun which is pre disc world written in 1976 and even then he is obsessed with mortality.

That’s one I haven’t read, yet (a delight that still awaits). I do have the Johnny Maxwell and
        Nome trilogies, as well as
Good Omens, but there are a few that have escaped my clutches.

Terry Prachett was a great author, I really cherished the disc world series. Have you read the Long Earth? It’s on my list, but not sure as to what place it falls.

    1. I’ve read bits of the long earth but not completed it. It’s completely different to the disc world.
