I have been to this theatre several times now, seeing quite different shows with different company and in different places at different times of the year, but each time it has been highly enjoyable. The actors in each production are very talented as our the stage hands changing the sets as necessary, the lighting and sound. I have seen a brazilian dance show(a personal story), ghost(based on the movie), return to the forbidden planet(a Sci Fi, 60s rock and roll extraganza based on Shakespeares the tempest), a show about the transformation of naval and social Britain from Victorian through to world war 1 and I expect to see many more at this turn of the century playhouse that still has its original features and screen. It’s always well attended and the tickets are reasonably priced. There is never a shortage of companions whatever is shown on the stage. Plus we can always eat and drink before hand cheaply at the wetherspoons which is just across the road.
